Small fen dominated by Carex. Several shrub zones of Cornus and a large wooded zone of Tamarack, Cornus, and poplur. Autumn olive encroaching on edges and some within fen on northern side. Nirdlingers maintain surrounding prairie. Homeowner to north manacures land in the lawn fashion to the edge of his property. 75m west of tamarack line on southern portion of fen. Fen's eastern border 75-100m west of quadrat. Carex meadow with shrubs/trees about every 15m2. Shrub trees are Cornus and Salix. Ground is hummocky and wet, but no standing water. At least 3 species of Carex flowering.
About 2-3 individuals per 1m2 area for 30m2, stays low to ground. Found on moist soil near Carex and ferns
