Habitat: Rare in open mesquite-lotebush shrubland on dry, eroding, shale slope. Associates include Acacia hirta, Ambrosia psilostachya, Bothriochloa saccharoides, Eriochloa sericea, Grindelia sp., Gutierrezia sp., Hymenoxys linearifolia, lindheimera texana, Monarda citriodora, Solanum elaeagnifolium.
Reproductive Condition: flowering + fruting=mid
