Habitat: Occasional on limestone boulders and rock outcrops in shade of Lacey oak - cedar elm forest at base of very steep W-facing slope. Associates include Aesculus pavia, Aristolochia serpentaria, Asplenium resiliens, Desmodium psilophyllum, Diospyros texana, Eupatorium rugosum, Galium aparine, G. texense, Hedeoma acinoides, Matelea edwardsensis, Parietaria pensylvanica, Passiflora lutea, Phacelia congesta, Quercus laceyi, Smilax bona-nox, Sophora secundiflora, Tragia brevispica, T. nigricans, Ulmus crassifolia, Urtica chamaedryoides, Verbesina virginica.
Phenology: flowering + fruiting=mid
