Naturalized in riparian zone, over granite, with Betula, Corylus, Pseudotsuga, Abies concolor, Prunus virginiana, native Sorbus scopulina here with shiny leaves and non-glaucous fruit.

Uncommon adventive 8 m trees, gray bark; buds densely white-hairy; leaves dull, slightly blue-green, 11-13 leaflets; infructescence 8-8.5 cm wide, 58-62 frt/infr; fruit red, slightly glaucous, shiny when rubbed, subglobose to broadly elliptic....
