A railroad (currently used andmaintained), runs almost the entire length. Within 20m on either side of the tracks is almost all herbaceous (weedy but diverse). Further from tracks there are many tamarack trees and shrubs including some autumn olive. Wooded prairie fen, canopy of tamarack with upcoming Quercus and cedar with a shrub layer of Toxicodendron vernix, Rhamnaceae, and Cornus. Herb layer dominated by Carex, Symplocarpus foetidus, Thelypteris palustris, and Rhamnaceae saplings. Ground somewhat hummocky, moist but no standing water. Shady but less than 35% canopy and less than 50% shrubs.
Population - Clumped, somewhat common in area, seen crawling on sedges and small Cornus, 1-2 individuals per 1m2 area for 30m2.
