Lakeside prairie fen around Braxee Lake and smaller Little Braxee Lake to the east. Sedge and Dasiphora fruticosa dominant with Salix, Cornus, and Toxicodendron vernix shrubs. Dense stands of Typha with moderately deep water separate fen on north side of Braxee Lake. Heron rookeries (old bog and current rookery) border the north side of fen. Invaded with Typha angustifolia, Phalaris arundinacea, Phragmites australis, and Lythrum salicaria. In portion of prairie fen north of Braxee Lake (60m), west of Typha channel, 60m south-southeast of 20m tall poplar. Cyperaceae dominated area on edge of sprawled Toxicodendron vernix patch. Other abundant species include Dasiphora fruticosa, Thelypteris palustris, Lythrum salicaria, and Scutellaria galericulata. Ground somewhat hummocky and puddles in footsteps.
Population - Common in area, but not dominant. 1-2 per 1m2 for 20m2. Seen with Schoenoplectus, Campanula aparoides, and Lythrum salicaria.
