Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Sedge meadow in northern region with many prairie species. Common plants include Dasiphora fruticosa, Rudbeckia fulgida, Solidago ohioensis, Cladium mariscoides, Toxicodendron vernix. Frangula alnus present as short shrubs; grove of Larix laricina about 10m to the east; ground wet but not inundated.
