Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Immediately north of stream; very wet area with weedy species including Lythrum salicaria, Phalaris arundinacea, Agrostis gigantea, Frangula alnus. Cornus sericea is a common shrub alongside Rosa palustris. Other species include Eutrochium maculatum, Impatiens capensis, Galium asprellum.
