Long, flat, grassy tundra above white bands of rock and further grassy tundra with tussocks and swales below white bands to lower saddle.
Flowers purple. cauline leaves glabrous, clasping, with large auricles. Basal leaves mostly withered, but with sessile, malpighiaceous (evenly two forked) hairs. Fruits erect to appressed, slightly flattened with a single, prominent vein. In fruit. Uncommon.
