Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 100 - 125m north of two-track, 20m east of where Rubles drive meets the two-track. Wet soils that puddles in footprints. Dominated by Carex with frequent Symplocarpus foetidus and Catha palustris. Shrub layer dominated by Cornus and Toxicodendron vernix. Some trees in area, but nearest ones are dead. Tamaracks 30m south of quadrat.
Population - Clumped, 4-7 individuals per 1m2 area for 50m2. Seen near asters, binding to Carex. No scent.
