Gorgeous, extensive wet fen on deep marl with marginal shrub swamps adjoining lake on all sides, the latter a 2-lake + streams complex remnant in an old glacial lake basin. Lake itself = 20 acres, with pH 7.8 & total alkalinity (ppm CaCO3) 265. Additional data for Cochrane, et al. 7608-7616, 7623: Narrow, relatively dry zone between lakeshore wet marsh and gravel fill of old, never completed roadbed. Associates: Triglochin palustris, Sphenopholis intermedia, Scirpus americanus, Eleocharis pauciflora, Rhynchospora capillacea, Carex hystericina, Salix discolor, S. candida, Potentilla fruticosa ssp. floribunda, Epilobium sp. (abundant), Campanula aparinoides, Lobelia kalmii, Eupatorium perfoliatum, and Solidago ohiensis.
