Fen (surrounded by much more expansive sedge-grass meadow) in tiny ravine-like depression that opens into spring run. Assoc.: Carex stricta, C. sterilis, C. buxbaumii, Eleocharis erythropoda, Sphenopholis intermedia, Lysimachia quadriflora, Zizia aurea,. Pycnanthemum virginianum, Lobelia kalmii, Aster lucidulus, Liatris pycnostachya, and Solidago gigantea. This spot, the most fen-like on the property, I believe to have been created when the spring run was straightened and deepened, a 1980's disturbance that probably cut through a reliably wet (for fen plants) peat layer.
