Elev. ca. 530 ft. Drummond Dolomite Prairie. "Malvastrum hispidum Site 7", northwest corner. Channahon 7.5' quad.

Shallow (4-10 cm) disturbed loamy clay with gravel and humus over level dolomite bedrock 'pavement'.; Dry to dry-mesic, somewhat degraded dolomite prairie with invasive exotics margin; dominants: Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Sporobolus vaginiflorus, Verbena simplex, Panicum spp., Opuntia, Bouteloua curtipendula. Dalea foliosa and Malvastrum hispidum present here.; Scarce herb, stems wine-purple, leaves needle-like; at margin of 'pavement'.
