Locality: United States, Nebraska, Brown, Niobrara Valley Preserve. About 38 mile southeast of Valentine Nebraska, south side of the Niobrara River. East of Valentine along State Route 12 to Norden and then south to the Niobrara River and then east down river below Wolbach Ranch. Below the river bluff just west of where Buzzard Canyon drains into the Niobrara River flat.

Habitat: Sandhills south of the Niobrara River. Growing at base of wooded slope above the Niobrara River, growing on Flat along the river, riparian deciduous forest with Juniperus virginiana, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Ostrya virginiana, Ulmus americana, Symphoricarpos occidenalis, Partenocissus vitacea, Vitis riparia, Ambrosia psilostachya, Campanula rotundifolia, Cannabis sativa, Chenopodium simplex, Cirsium vulgare, Monarda fistulosa, Nepeta cataria, Opuntia humifusa, Panicum capillare, Parietaria pensylvanica, Poa pratensis, Sanicula canadensis, etc. Annual.
