United States, Illinois, DuPage, Morton Arboretum, On a disturbed, grassy road shoulder in a residential neighborhood. Plainfield Rd. at Linden St., one block E of Cass Ave., Darien.

Notes:
Late flowering, abundant. This plant keys out to A. mutabile, but its late flowering and abundant presence cast doubt on that identification. Another possibility is the sexually developed A. canadense L. var. lavendulare (Bates) Ownbey [Ownbey & Aase]. See label for more.
