At least 200 plants in a distance of ca. 400 ft. of roadside. With Sorghum halepense, Polytainia, Prunus, Silphium laciniatum, Cacalia, Engelmannia, Centaurea, Echinacea, Monarda. Grassy roadside ca. 6 miles NE of Madill. Locality is along NW side of dirt road (to Tishomingo Refuge) 0.5 miles NE of jct. of this road and Hwy. 99 at point where 99 turns N (ca. 5.5 miles NE of Madill).
Perianth segments lavender, with green midrib; 3 of the filaments much broadened, with 2 awnlike cusps on either side of the anther-bearing central "cusp." Plants producing abundant offsets. Leaves flat in X-section.
